Medicine Within Wisdom™
and the journey that created it
The story behind the methodology — from a Himalayan calling through nursing, doctoral research, and decades of clinical practice to a complete integrated healing system.
A complete system for health and healing
Medicine Within Wisdom™ is not a clinic. It is not a collection of therapies. It is a complete integrated healing methodology — one that brings together modern clinical science, evidence-informed practice, and the timeless wisdom of Tibetan healing traditions into a coherent, structured system.
At its heart is a single conviction: the medicine is already within you. The role of Medicine Within Wisdom™ is to create the conditions in which that inherent healing intelligence can emerge.
The methodology is built on the GROUND™ System — six interconnected pathways through which all assessment, programmes, workshops, and retreats are delivered. It will eventually encompass a book, structured clinical programmes, workshops, retreats, practitioner training, certification, research, and the Medicine Within Wisdom™ Institute.

Dr. Yeshi Wangmo, Ph.D
Founder of Medicine Within Wisdom™
Some journeys begin with a destination. Others begin with a quiet calling. For Dr. Yeshi Wangmo, that calling began in the Himalayas. Growing up in a remote mountain community, surrounded by nature and a close-knit way of life, she learned early that health was more than the absence of illness. Those early experiences planted a lifelong curiosity — one that has continued to shape every step of her personal and professional journey.
Her career began in nursing and has since evolved through years of clinical practice, caring for people at some of the most vulnerable moments of their lives. Working in acute care and progressing into leadership as a Clinical Nurse Manager and Clinical Nurse Specialist, she witnessed the extraordinary achievements of modern medicine. She also encountered a question that conventional healthcare alone could not always answer: why do some people recover and thrive, while others continue to live with pain, fatigue, or a sense that something is still missing — even after receiving excellent medical care?
Rather than accepting that question, she chose to explore it. Her search led to a Ph.D in Integrative Medicine and an ongoing commitment to studying the many dimensions of human health — neuromuscular therapy, fascia science, breathing, lifestyle medicine, nervous system regulation, energy medicine, movement, and contemplative practice. Always seeking to understand not only how the body functions, but how people heal as whole human beings.
Movement has been an important part of that journey. She travelled to India to study yoga, later representing her discipline at the Yoga Olympics, where she was awarded a silver medal. Beyond the achievement itself, the experience reinforced a lifelong appreciation for the relationship between movement, breath, awareness, and resilience.
Throughout her career, one belief has remained constant: the human body is not working against us. It is constantly adapting, protecting, communicating, and doing its very best with the resources available. This belief became the foundation of Medicine Within Wisdom™.
Today, alongside her work in orthopaedic healthcare, Dr. Wangmo continues to develop Medicine Within Wisdom™ through clinical practice, education, experiential learning workshops, writing, and the annual Mount Kailash Experience. Her vision extends beyond individual treatment — toward a future where healthcare is increasingly person-centred, collaborative, and focused not only on managing illness, but on cultivating resilience, restoring balance, and empowering people to participate actively in their own wellbeing.
“The medicine is already within. Our role is to help create the conditions for it to emerge.”
Beyond individual treatment
Dr. Yeshi's vision for Medicine Within Wisdom™ extends far beyond a clinical practice. The methodology is designed to grow — into a book, structured online programmes, workshops, retreats, practitioner training, certification, corporate wellbeing, research, and ultimately the Medicine Within Wisdom™ Institute.
For her, healing has never been about searching for something outside ourselves. It begins by recognising the extraordinary intelligence that already exists within.
